Every church and every Christian should have good literature available to give to
friends and contacts.
Sound tracts are a resource for Christians and their churches to pass on the Good
News of Jesus Christ to the contemporary world. The Tract’s aren’t merely “thought
provokers” but condensed talks so the readers can really think about contemporary
issues and through them engage with the claims of Christ.
If you’re not into sport, or keeping fit, you will be encouraged by the statistic
that says that every 7 minutes of every day someone in an aerobics class pulls a
hamstring!
Whether that is accurate or not, sport certainly plays a major part in life today. It
is a global industry, activity and preoccupation. So, is sport a religion? The strange
thing about religion is that most of us know what it is until someone asks us to
define it. Perhaps the best thing to do is describe it. Religion has belief, or a
system of beliefs, in something or someone we consider worthy of our allegiance.
Christianity has something very important to say to all this. It does not pretend
that it’s not an issue, nor does it treat it superficially or naively. It doesn’t
say that sport is bad so don’t play it, nor that it is all good so playas much as
you like. No, Christianity tackles (excuse the pun!) sport in a balanced way. It
says that sport is good (just like all of God’s gifts).we consider worthy of our
allegiance.
